I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you as a potential member of the Lifestyle Center of America team.  I believe there is no more rewarding job in the world than working with people who want to make positive changes in their lives.

Lifestyle Center of America is known the world over for its Stopping Diabetes Program.  This is due in large part to the excellence of our staff members. Every "healing resort" has a spiritual component to their program.  At Lifestyle Center of America, our spiritual program component is based on non-denominational Christianity.  Our staff are deeply committed to lives of mission and service and this is reflected in the attitudes, work ethic and commitment of our staff.

Lifestyle Center of America (LCA) is an equal opportunity employer and is tobacco, alcohol and drug free. LCA provides health restoration programs for people struggling with chronic disease. The majority of the LCA guests come to stop the progression of type 2 diabetes using the clinical intervention of lifestyle medicine. We currently have two locations where we offer the complete Stopping Diabetes Program experience.  One at our flagship facility in the lake country of south central Oklahoma and the other in the beautiful topography of Sedona, Arizona. LCA offers excellent health benefits for qualified positions.

Internship Mission

The Internship Program at LCA provides students with the opportunity to explore career goals while working with professionals in their chosen fields. Interns will develop knowledge and gain competencies and experience in their selected competencies. During their tenure at LCA, interns will be exposed to practical employment experience while performing assigned duties. Gaining this experience from an industry leader will more thoroughly prepare students for work and to excel in their new careers.

• Completed one year of post-secondary education at an accredited institution.
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Q. Are you hiring interns now?

A. Yes, LCA is currently looking for students to participate in our internship programs. We host programs year round, typically one month at a time.

Q. Are internships at LCA paid?

A. No. The internship program is not paid.

Q. Is it possible to receive college credit?

A. Yes, though it depends on your individual college or university. To make certain, you should consult your college career center.

Q. What hours do interns work?

A. Hours for interns vary. Most interns are full-time. Hours are flexible and typically range from 30-40 hours a week.

Q. What is a typical day like as an intern?

A. There is no typical day as an intern. You'll soon discover that every day is different because it is filled with so many new, exciting, rewarding and often unexpected challenges.

Q. Is there a charge for the internship program?

A. No. LCA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit with a health education charter and does not charge an educational fee. There is a $350 room and meal charge for a full 12-day stay.  

Q. What else comes with the internship program?

A. Each intern is provided with a program notebook and an LCA Cooking School recipe.
